Inauguration of the Generali Balloon of Paris
29 April 2025 marked the official inauguration of the new Generali Balloon of Paris, which has been installed since 2013 in the Parc André Citroën in the 15th arrondissement. As well as being an attraction that allows everyone to discover Paris from an altitude of 150 m, this balloon is a real flying laboratory that measures greenhouse gases and air quality.
New for 2025, the balloon will also become a climate change watchdog: equipped with LED screens, it will display global warming indicators on its envelope in real time (global temperature increase +1.6°C and European temperature increase +2.9°C) to raise public awareness of the issue, thanks to a new scientific partnership with ECMWF-Copernicus.
In the 4 innovation bubbles set up at the foot of the balloon, researchers, experts and visitors were able to discuss key issues: climate, health, transition and concrete solutions.
Aerophile is proud to be working alongside its long-standing partners, the insurer Generali, the city of Paris and the CNRS, and the European Copernicus programmes ECMWF and ICOS, to take joint action against global warming and for better air quality at the Generali Balloon of Paris!
