Tethered balloon

Seoul, South Korea
July 2024

The balloon is an initiative of the city of Seoul, which wanted to offer its residents and visitors a unique and peaceful view of the capital of the “Land of the Morning Calm”, up to an altitude of 150m.

The balloon is located in Yeouido, a district that includes the country’s largest institutions, such as the National Assembly, and Korea’s biggest banks. It’s also a very pleasant area, with large public parks leading down to the Han River that runs through Seoul.

The balloon proudly bears the city’s new slogan “Seoul my Soul”. It is also known as “Seouldal” – “dal” meaning moon in Korean.
