The Aerophare, the first tethered balloon to fly in wind of up to 70 km/h

Fifteen years since the large tethered balloon, the AERO30NG, was brought back into fashion, and after 3 years of research and development, Aerophile S.A is pleased to announce the birth of the AEROPHARE, the first permanently inflated balloon which, with space for 12 passengers, can reach an altitude of 55 metres with wind of 70 km/h.

The first prototype at Evry 2 (in the southern suburbs of Paris) has been open to the general public since 1 November 2007 and has given complete satisfaction, with several thousand passengers having already climbed aboard. Visible round the clock, it also consists of a single pole and a tremendous 250 m2 advertising space.

60 m high and containing a 9-metre-diameter balloon, the AEROPHARE is a world first and has been patented the world over (or nearly!)
