Our two French balloons resisted to the storm Xynthia (130 km/h)

Dear Friends,

We would like to thank and inform those of you who showed us their anxiety in the passage of the storm Xynthia last Sunday, on February 28th, 2010.

According to weather forecasts, this storm was particularly violent, with winds in more than 120 km/h in Paris region.

The balloons of Paris and Eurodisney perfectly resisted to this storm thanks to the proper care of the operating staff who prepared and watched them. At the height of the storm, we registered winds of 60 knots (110 km/h) in Paris and 70 knots (130 km/h) at Eurodisney.

The balloon of Eurodisney, particularly exposed on a plateau at East of Paris, and which is inflated for more than 5 years, knew 6 hours of storm with winds reaching more than 60 knots in gust: a beautiful performance for this brave fighter which will soon take a deserved rest to get replaced by a new illuminated balloon.

Thank you !

The AEROPHILE Team
